Two NEW Scholarship Opportunities
One for university students
One for high school students
NECTFL is pleased to partner with Vista Higher Learning to offer one scholarship to a high school student who is dedicated to a career in language teaching and one scholarship to a university student who is enrolled in a matriculated program toward a degree and teacher licensure. Each scholarship is $1,000 and will be awarded to the strongest candidate whose application is evaluated on a rubric by a committee. To apply: Make a folder including 1. Your current high school or college transcript 2. List of school, campus and community activities 3. A one-page statement of your future plan to become a language teacher (750 words max) 4. Recommendation letter from peer 5. Recommendation letter from an instructor or academic advisor/dean/department chair 6. Hyperlink to video. In the video, you introduce yourself and describe briefly your passion for languages using a language you are studying and considering teaching. The video should focus on the candidate the entire time – max 3 minutes
